Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026Preamble
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Grand Cru & Etiquette ("GC&E", "we", "us") uses on the website www.grandcruandetiquette.com (the "Site"), why we use them, and how you can control your preferences.
This policy should be read alongside the Privacy Policy published at www.grandcruandetiquette.com/privacy-policy, which sets out the broader framework for how GC&E handles personal data.
The use of cookies on this Site is governed by French law, the RGPD/GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679), and the recommendations of the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL).
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device — computer, tablet or smartphone — when you visit a website. Cookies serve different purposes: some are essential to the operation of the site, others collect information about how you use it, and others remember your preferences between visits.
Cookies may be set either by GC&E directly ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services integrated into the Site ("third-party cookies"). Each cookie has a lifespan: session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.
2. Cookies Used on This Site
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to function. They cannot be disabled without impairing your ability to use the Site. They do not require your consent under applicable law.

2.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies are placed only with your explicit consent. They allow us to understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, where they come from — in order to improve the Site's content and structure. The data collected is aggregated and does not identify you individually.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

These cookies are subject to the third party's own privacy and cookie policies, not GC&E's. They are activated only with your explicit consent via the cookie banner.

What GC&E does not use:
GC&E does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cookies that track your browsing across other websites in order to serve you targeted advertising. GC&E does not share cookie data with advertising networks.
The current version of the Site does not embed Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram content in a way that places tracking cookies. Should this change, this policy will be updated accordingly and your consent will be sought before any such cookies are placed.
3. Cookie Consent
When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner is displayed. This banner gives you the choice to:
Accept all cookies — including analytics and functional cookies in addition to strictly necessary ones
Reject non-essential cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be placed
Customise your preferences — accept or reject each category individually
Your choice is recorded and respected for 12 months from the date it is made. After this period, the banner will appear again and you will be invited to confirm or update your preferences.
You may update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Manage Cookies" link in the footer of the Site.
4. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser
In addition to the cookie banner, you can control and delete cookies directly through your browser settings. The following links provide instructions for the most common browsers:

Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop

Please note that disabling all cookies may affect the functionality of the Site, including your ability to log into the member area or complete a purchase.
5. Cookies and Personal Data
Some cookies collect information that constitutes personal data under the GDPR — in particular, IP addresses and identifiers that can be used to recognise a returning device. Where this is the case, that data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy published at www.grandcruandetiquette.com/privacy-policy
The legal basis for placing non-essential cookies is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The legal basis for strictly necessary cookies is GC&E's legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Your Rights
In relation to data collected through cookies, you have the same rights as those set out in the Privacy Policy: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, or to ask any question about how cookies are used on this Site, please contact GC&E through the Contact section of the Site at www.grandcruandetiquette.com/contact
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
7. Modifications
GC&E reserves the right to update this Cookie Policy at any time, in particular to reflect changes in the cookies used on the Site, changes in applicable law, or CNIL guidance. Any update will be published on this page with a revised date. Where changes are material, the cookie banner will reappear to invite you to review and reconfirm your preferences.
