Terms and Conditions of Sale

Last updated: August 2026

1. About These Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions of Sale ("Terms") govern the purchase of paid subscriptions offered by Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E), an independent French publication dedicated to cultural intelligence, French wine and related subjects through written, video and audio content.

Information concerning the company operating Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E) is provided in our Legal Notice.

By subscribing to a paid service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms.

These Terms are governed by French law, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply to you.

2. The Subscription

Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E) offers a monthly subscription providing access to subscriber-only editorial content and any additional benefits described on the subscription page at the time of purchase.

The subscription is personal and non-transferable. Subscriber-only content may not be reproduced, distributed, shared or commercially exploited without our prior written permission.

Access is normally provided once payment has been successfully processed.

The availability and format of subscriber benefits may evolve over time, provided that the essential nature of the subscription is not materially altered.

3. Price and Payment

The subscription price is the price displayed on the website at the time you subscribe.

Prices are displayed in euros and include applicable taxes where required.

Payment is processed through a secure third-party payment provider. Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E) does not ordinarily store your full payment card details.

By subscribing, you authorise the applicable payment provider to charge the subscription fee at the beginning of each billing period until the subscription is cancelled.

If a payment fails, access to subscriber-only content may be suspended until payment is successfully completed.

4. Renewal and Cancellation

The subscription automatically renews each month unless cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the relevant account or subscription settings, or by contacting us where this option is not available.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You will normally retain access to subscriber-only content until that date.

Unless required by law, cancelling a subscription does not entitle you to a refund for the unused portion of the current billing period.

5. Price Changes

We may change the subscription price from time to time.

Any new price will apply only to future billing periods and, where required by applicable law, you will receive reasonable notice before the change takes effect.

If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the new price applies.

6. Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal under applicable consumer protection law.

However, where the subscription provides immediate access to digital content, the right of withdrawal may cease once you have expressly requested immediate access and acknowledged that you will lose your right of withdrawal when access begins, where permitted by law.

The applicable consent and acknowledgement will be presented during the subscription process.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law, subscription fees are non-refundable once the relevant billing period has begun.

If Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E) is unable to provide the essential subscription service for a significant period due to circumstances within its control, we may provide an appropriate remedy, which may include an extension of access or a pro-rata refund.

8. Service Availability

We make reasonable efforts to maintain access to subscriber content, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, technical issues, security reasons or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may also modify, replace or discontinue particular content or features, provided that we continue to fulfil our essential subscription obligations.

9. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable French or European law.

Where applicable, legal guarantees relating to digital content and services remain unaffected by these Terms.

10. Personal Data

Personal data collected in connection with your subscription is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

For information about cookies and similar technologies, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services or applicable law.

The version applicable to your purchase is the version in force when your subscription is entered into.

Where a change materially affects an existing subscription, we will provide appropriate notice where required by law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by French law.

If you have a complaint or dispute, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can seek an amicable resolution.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with applicable law and any mandatory consumer protection rules applicable to you.

13. Contact
