Cultural Intelligence &
Strategic Wine Advisory

Based in Paris, Grand Cru & Etiquette (GC&E) is a private advisory practice in French wine and cultural intelligence. We do not sell wine, nor do we provide regulated financial or investment advice (GC&E does not hold an AMF licence).
What We Do

Every engagement brings together two rarely combined fields: French cultural codes and the language of wine. In practice, this takes three forms.

Cultural Intelligence — We clarify the professional and cultural codes that are rarely made explicit: hierarchy, registers of communication, the etiquette and social role of the table, and the strategic use of wine as a social signal. For anyone operating in France, or with France, who wishes to read these codes with greater precision.

Strategic Wine Selection — We advise in high‑stakes contexts — corporate gifts, client receptions, institutional hospitality — shaping each recommendation around the recipient, the occasion and the message the wine is intended to convey, whether the wines are chosen for cellaring or for immediate pleasure. This includes food‑and‑wine pairings designed to showcase the wine, the dish, or both in dialogue.

Cultural Due Diligence — For those exposed to French wine as an asset, we provide insight into appellation systems, classification hierarchies, négociant dynamics and the cultural architecture that underpins long‑term value.

“Technical expertise opens doors.
Cultural fluency determines what happens inside.”

How an Engagement Begins

All engagements begin with a confidential conversation, structured around the client's specific situation and objectives.
